Italy x reader oneshot- live like we're dying

And if your plane fell out of the sky,
who would you call with your last goodbye?

I was relaxing in the plane that would carry me to Italy so I could see my long-time best friend, Feliciano, when a muffled boom shook the plane and the captain came on the intercom.

“I regret to inform you that one of the engines has broken and we are making a descent. It, unfortunately, when it exploded took out our landing gear. We have no way of landing properly.  Please stay calm. And…yes, we’re going to crash.” His last few words echoed in my head. Were we…going to die?  He came on again. “If you wish to, you may call someone if it comforts you…but you only have a limited amount of time until we hit the ground.” My fears were confirmed. We were all going to die. But…no! This couldn’t be happening! No…I hadn’t told Feli…that…that I loved him…And now I was going to die without seeing him again…A tear rolled down my cheek, quickly followed by more.

I whipped out my phone and dialed the first person in my contact list.

“Ciao! This is Feliciano!”

“Feli…it’s me…” I sniffled, trying to hold back my sobs.

“Oh, hi bella! You sound like you’re crying…Are you okay? Aren’t you on a plane? I thought you weren’t allowed to use your phone on a plane.”

“Yeah…I’m on a plane…It’s just-“ I broke down, sobbing into the phone.

“Whoa, shh, shh. Calm down. What’s wrong?” Feli tried to comfort me through the phone, but it was no use. I couldn’t hold the tears back.

“T-the engine broke…we’re c-crashing…I…I’m going to d-die…”

“…But how? What about the landing gear? Can’t they land?” His voice sounded frantic.

“The landing gear’s broken too…There’s nothing left that could save me, Feli…” I forced my voice to sound calm, though on the inside I was as frantic and scared as Feli.

“No…______, I can’t lose you! There has to be a way!”

“Feli…This is goodbye…forever…I-I’m sorry…” The tears managed to spill out of my eyes once more.

“But-“

“Just tell everyone…” I choked on a sob. “Tell them…that I said goodbye…”

I heard Feli take a shuddering breath. “I…I will. I’ll tell them, bella.”

One minute until impact. The captain’s voice rang through the cabin, striking me with the realization of just how close to death I was.

“Feli…I have one minute…that’s it…”

“No…______, I don’t want you to die! I…I don’t know what I’d do…Just…please, don’t die…” I could hear him starting to cry. And it broke my heart.

“Feli.” I said, more forcefully than expected, judging from the fact that I was crying too. “Don’t cry over me…Just remember…remember that…I love you, okay? I love you so, so much.”

“______...” I heard him take a deep breath. “I will. Ti amo troppo, ______. I love you too…”

I smiled through my tears. “Goodby-“ I didn’t even get to finish saying goodbye before we hit the ground. Pain shot through my body for a second, then it was gone and everything went dark. I was gone.

My phone, however, was still on.

“______...______, can’t you hear me? Please, don’t be dead…” He pleaded through the phone, but he already knew that I was gone.

“I’ll never forget you, ______.”
